1 – Have a morning routine.

One of the biggest hacks to save time throughout your day is having a good, solid morning routine. Once you have a good routine in place for right when you wake up, you will instantly become more productive and be more prone to staying on time throughout the day.

Morning routines can vary depending on your own personal lifestyle, but can include tasks such as making your bed, meditating, working out, making yourself breakfast, walking your dog, and aiming to get to your office or sit at your computer around the same time each day.

This will help to keep you structured to save time and get your day off to a great start!

 

2 – Limit distractions as much as possible.

Next, try to limit distractions as much as you possibly can. When it comes to getting your tasks done, stay focused so that you are able to complete each task efficiently and effectively without having to “stop and go.”

It can take up to a full half hour to be able to fully refocus after being distracted from anything, whether it is a phone call from a family member or friend, or even just a social media notification on your phone.

When you are ready to work on and complete a task, consider turning your phone on silent, turning the TV off, and getting rid of any notifications that might pop up and derail you.

 

3 – Schedule breaks throughout your day.

Burn out is totally real! Make sure that you are actively scheduling time to give yourself a break throughout your day so that you do not feel completely burnt out and overwhelmed. This is especially important if you are finding that you have a lot on your plate.

Your break can consist of anything from a walk outside with some fresh air to making yourself a hearty lunch. Making time for a break can help you save time overall.

 

4 – Be OK with saying no.

Being OK with saying no can be a tough one, especially if you find that you are generally a people pleaser. Consider what you have on your plate each day and truly ask yourself if you will have the bandwidth to add another task to your to do list.

If the answer is yes, before committing, take a look at your schedule to figure out when you will be able to fit this task in, and how feasible it will be for you.

If the answer is no, remember to not feel guilty about saying no – your time is everything. Save time where you can!

 

5 – Delegate where and when you can.

If you have the opportunity to delegate any of your tasks, and you have people around you that are willing to give a helping hand, take advantage of the offer and delegate some of your projects!

Delegating is also a great way to get some new ideas that you may have not thought about had you been working on something in a silo. Plus, it will save time which is the goal, right?!
