It’s almost fall, y’all! The fall season is the perfect time of year to spend with family and friends, enjoying the gorgeous foliage, return of football season, and the crisp, fresh air! If you are looking to plan some day trips this fall, I have pulled together some of the hottest restaurants on the South Shore that you must check out, along with must-try dishes and drinks. Check them out here:
Three V Restaurant is known as “a new energy to America’s hometown,” and it is truly just that! Three V Restaurant was created by the third generation of the Viscariello Family, celebrating the legacy of service and evolution of the family’s love affair with great tasting food and lasting connection to the South Shore community. They offer an outstanding menu that will satisfy your taste buds no matter what you are in the mood for. Not to mention, a fun, casual ambiance!
Kick your meal off with the Street Corn and Fried Pickles as appetizers. The Street Corn is topped with crispy pork belly, pico, spicy aioli, and fresh cilantro. This dish is not only super flavorful and delicious, but also downright gorgeous and full of color! And, you cannot go wrong with Fried Pickles, especially when they are paired with tabasco aioli, which you will want to bottle up and take home with you!
For entrees, if you are in the mood for an Italian dish, do not think twice about the Butternut Squash Ravioli. This dish is butternut squash wrapped in thin egg pasta, tossed with craisins, sliced almonds, and a delectable brown sugar and sage cream sauce.
For a Japanese dish, check out the Soba Noodle Bowl, which comes with snow peas, carrots, peppers, onions, peanuts, soy sauce, and sesame oil. These are perfect to eat all by yourself or to share if you want to order a few items!
Don’t forget to finish with dessert – I recommend the Three V S’Mores, a warm brownie with graham cracker pastry cream and toasted house-made marshmallow!
There is a cocktail on this South Shore menu for everyone!
For something spicy, check out the Hot and Filthy martini, mixed with Tito’s® vodka, pepperoncini juice, olive juice, and a dash of tabasco, garnished with a pepperoncini pepper and olives. For a spicy lover like myself, this drink was an absolute dream, and so uniquely flavored that you must try for yourself!
For something fruity, order the Lunch with Karen, mixed with lemon vodka, strawberry liqueur, pink lemonade, and a Cabernet float, garnished with an orange and cherry skewer.
And, for dessert, you will die for the Willy Wonka, mixed with vanilla vodka, Godiva® chocolate liqueur, White Crème de Cacao, and a chocolate caramel swirl.
The Range in Hingham is the perfect spot for a business meeting, to watch a big game, enjoy a date night, or a relaxing night out with family and friends on the South Shore. The restaurant features cozy booths and tables, comfortable bar stools, and a gorgeous outdoor patio overlooking an expansive driving range. Their menu features something for everyone and offers a wide variety of items, an ever-changing seasonal menu, and a diverse drink list to appeal to all tastes.
You can’t go wrong with any of the appetizers at The Range, but some of my favorites include the Meatball Sliders, Shrimp Scampi Flatbread, Loaded Nachos, and the Short Rib Poutine. The Meatball sliders are meatballs topped with marinara and parmesan in a perfect garlic-buttered bun.
For seafood, enjoy the Shrimp Scampi Flatbread on cauliflower crust (yes!), with olive oil, shrimp, tomato, spinach, garlic, mozzarella, and parmesan.
Of course, you can’t miss out on the Loaded Nachos, which can (and have to be) topped with The Range’s buffalo chicken. These nachos are to-die-for, including cheddar jack cheese, queso, jalapenos, black beans, corn salsa, pico de gallo, scallions, and sour cream.
And lastly, cozy up with the Short Rib Poutine – crispy french fries topped with beef gravy, garlic cheese curds, short rib, a sunny-side up egg, and scallions.
Enjoy seasonal Fall specials such as the Fall Sangria or Pumpkin Pie Martini, or one of the best-seller cocktails, the Spiked Iced Coffee. The Fall Sangria is deliciously sweet and mixed with Pinot Grigio, Stoli® Karamel vodka, apple liquor, and pumpkin pie simple.
For a drink that tastes like liquid dessert, don’t miss out on the Pumpkin Pie Martini, mixed with Captain Morgan®, RumChata®, pumpkin puree, and topped with whipped cream and nutmeg.
And, if you are looking for a cocktail to give you a little pep in your step, try the Spiked Iced Coffee, mixed with Grey Goose®, Kahlua, Bailey’s® caramel, and espresso.
Weymouth’s Weathervane Golf Club is open to the public and features an impressive clubhouse complete with a tavern and multiple event spaces. The Tavern at Weathervane Golf Club features a quaint patio that can seat over 100 people, overlooking the course’s signature ninth hole. With indoor seating plus outdoor covered and uncovered seating, there are options for everyone to be comfortable! This gorgeous South Shore spot offers stunning views, chef-inspired dishes, unique cocktails, and igloo dining as the weather gets colder.
Kick off with the Black Garlic Truffle Fries, which are topped with parmesan and served with chipotle ketchup. Not only are these fries perfectly crisped and seasoned, but the chipotle ketchup is truly life-changing. Trust me, you’ll want to order the chipotle ketchup for every other dish you order, as well!
If you’re in the mood for a sandwich, you can’t go wrong with the Grilled BBQ Chicken on a seeded brioche bun, topped with lettuce, tomato, crispy onion strings, smoked apple barbecue sauce. This sandwich is served with french fries (don’t forget the chipotle ketchup!)
For salad, the Ultimate Iceberg Wedge is everyone’s dream salad – topped with candied bacon, cherry tomatoes, crispy fried onion rings, and Great Hill blue cheese dressing (aka, the best dressing of all time).
For the ultimate comfort food, order the Baked Mac & Cheese, served with garlic-herb breadcrumbs. This mac & cheese is downright delicious and is served piping hot with just the right amount of cheese.
This South Shore restaurant is known for their Golf Ball and Vacation drinks, which are enjoyed year-round.
The Golf Ball, a super on-brand cocktail to get at Weathervane, is mixed with Chloe® prosecco, Grey Goose® L’Orange vodka, triple sec, and orange juice.
The Vacation is the perfect drink to make you feel like you are enjoying summer even as the days get chillier. This drink is mixed with Bacardi® coconut rum, coconut cream, pineapple juice, orange juice, Myers’s® rum float, and nutmeg.
The Beth is newly opened in the Hingham shipyard and is not a restaurant you want to miss out on! The Beth’s name comes from the Bethlehem Hingham Shipyard, which operated on the same grounds as the restaurant nearly a century ago. The restaurant is waterfront with a casual feel, offering indoor and outdoor dining, a spacious driftwood bar, creative American cuisine, refreshing cocktails, beers, and wines. The Beth features a menu created by Chef Jim Fargo that features creative American plates with international influence. They also offer some of the most delicious (and Instagrammable!) cocktails.
Whether you prefer to start off with this or make it your full meal, you cannot leave The Beth without ordering the Sausage and Hot Honey Flatbread. This flatbread, one of the most flavorful and delicious flatbreads ever, is topped with fennel sausage, fresh mozzarella, garlic, basil, and spicy calabrese honey (this sauce is so tasty, you’ll want to drizzle it on everything!). You can also opt to get this flatbread with cauliflower crust!
For a nice, fresh salad, enjoy the Watermelon & Feta Salad, which comes with fresh balled watermelon, feta cheese, arugula, fried olives (umm, yes!), basil, and topped with mint and balsamic vinaigrette. And, of course, top it off with some delicious steak as your protein!
As a die-hard margarita lover, I can’t say enough about the Spicy Mango Margarita, which is just as amazing as it looks. This cocktail is mixed with ghost tequila, mango, house sour, and topped with a tajín rim and fresh lime. This drink is the perfect combination of spicy and sweet – so good, that you’ll find yourself ordering another in no time.
For something light and fresh, try the Cucumber Basil Smash, mixed with crop cucumber organic vodka, St. Germain® liqueur, muddled cucumber, and strawberry, lime, and basil. This cocktail is extremely refreshing and perfect to enjoy on the patio!
