As coronavirus cases are still extremely prominent around the world, everyone is continuing to adhere to the guidelines of quarantining and social distancing. Given the current circumstances now and throughout the past few months, many people have had to alter their plans to stay at home. For people who are looking to move, you may be wondering whether or not it is worth it, and if you must move, how to best go about the situation. Of course, it is best to stay quarantined as much as possible, however, if moving is inevitable for you, here are some tips on how to stay safe:

  • Call and coordinate with your moving company. Make sure that you and your moving company are on the same page in terms of safety and hygiene. Ensure that everyone is wearing a mask and gloves and that all moving trucks are fully equipped with hand sanitizer.
  • Implement daily cleaning. Whether your move takes one day or multiple days to load in all of your furniture and belongings, you need to implement daily cleaning now more than ever, especially for high-touch surfaces. Make sure you are stocked up on the proper cleaning supplies to sanitize throughout the day and after movers leave your new home.
  • Stay far apart. You will need to develop an organized plan to ensure that everyone is able to social distance throughout the move and stay far apart. Remember, this is for not only your safety, but everyone else’s as well!
